The Resident may withdraw from the Residency Training Program if he/she has a valid reason provided that the consent of the Education Committee, OMSB, and sponsor have been obtained. 

If the Resident who has withdrawn wishes to rejoin at OMSB, he/she should be evaluated by the Education Committee to determine the possibility of accepting him/her into OMSB’s residency training program and the appropriate training level.

Withdrawal Application Process

1.  The Resident submits a Withdrawal Form to the OMSB Admission & Registration Section
2.  The OMSB Admission & Registration Section processes the request and refers it to the Education Committee for their opinion/resolution
3.  A Referral must be made to the Performance and Wellness Unit through the Education Committee
4.  The report generated by the Performance and Wellness Unit is sent to the Education Committee for their final recommendation. A copy of the report is sent to Admission & Registration Section
5.  The Resident must then obtain approval from his/her sponsor
6.  The withdrawal must be approved by the Executive Board
7.  The Resident must continue training in OMSB until the cancellation of the Release Qarar is issued
8.  The Resident must fill in an OMSB Clearance Form and submit it to the Admission and Registration Section
9.  The Resident must complete any other requirements recommended by OMSB
10.  The Resident must report back to the sponsor directly after withdrawal from OMSB

The Resident may interrupt his/her training for a period of no longer than one block (28 days) on the occasion of death of spouse, parents, or children, or illness of the Resident, spouse, or children if needed after the approval of the Education Committee and the Executive President. In all cases the Resident must submit supporting documents for any case of interruption.

If the Resident interrupts his/her training with a valid reason for a period of no longer than one block (28 days), the training period prior to the interruption will be counted provided that the Resident must compensate for the period of interruption with an equivalent period during his/her residency training. Interruption is not allowed for more than twice throughout the whole training period.
 
 
 

Interruption Application Process  

1.  The Resident may interrupt his/her training with a valid reason for a period of no longer than one block (28 days).
2.  The Resident submits an Interruption Form together with supporting documents for interruption (when applicable) to the OMSB Admission & Registration Section.
3.  The OMSB Admission & Registration Section processes the request and refers it to the Education Committee for their opinion/resolution.
4.  A Referral must be made to the Performance and Wellness Unit through the Education Committee.
5.  The report generated by the Performance and Wellness Unit is sent to the Education Committee for their final recommendation. A copy of the report is sent to Admission & Registration Section.
6.  The OMSB should communicate with the resident’s sponsor informing them of the interruption period.
7.  The Resident must then obtain approval from his/her sponsor.
8.  The Resident cannot interrupt his/her training before the issuance of official Interruption Qarar.
9.  The Resident must compensate for the period of interruption with an equivalent period during his/her training.
10.  The Resident must complete any other requirements recommended by OMSB.
